MACGREGOR’SBARN- ASTEP INTO THE
PAST…
The
Setting- A
Highland HillSheep Farm
– also the home of The Scottish Sheepdog School -deep in the heartof
the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs
National Park.

The
Place-MacGregor’s
Barn, built in1620, its white
stone walls hungwith the
weaponsand the banners of
highland warriors from the days of the JacobiteWars.
In
this very place, the young Rob Roy MacGregor,
just turned 18, addressed his fellow clansmen at the Feast of the HairstKirn in October 1689, when he described his
experiences at the Battle of Killiecrankie the
previous August. Author Sir Walter Scott was a regular visitor to the farm
at which he wrote his novel, “Rob Roy”
The
barn, which is self-contained with its own toilets, kitchen, and adjoining
Stables Bar, will accommodate 54 wedding guests at long, traditional,
baronial-style tables lit by candlelight.There is aminstrel’s gallery where the KinlochardCeilidh Band –all local musicians- and
pipers will entertain in traditional celtic
style and lead the dancing.
An
exciting range ofmenus is available for the wedding banquet,local produce, includingthe
farm’s own lamb, is recommended.The wedding ceremony can be held “al fresco” at the adjacent Helen’sPool and Waterfall –named after Rob Roy’s wife, Helen
Mary MacGregor- in the barn or at one of the
picturesque local churches.
The
farm also offers guests a whole range of outdoor pursuits, including clay
pigeon shooting, fishing, canoeing, quad biking,mountain biking, and guided hill walks –so there is no
need to rush off after the wedding!Local
accommodation includes a four-star hotel with leisure centre and poolimmediately
adjacent to the farm.
We
have our very own traditional Ceilidh band that have a
repertoire
covering; Scottish, Irish, Latin, Salsa and many other kinds of

Please note that we also have a
fleet of luxury vehicles from Mercedes V class Ambiente’s and Chrysler

Kinlochard
is 50 minutes from GlasgowAirport and one hour
from EdinburghAirport.The farm has its own luxury transport for the bridal party.
